Lansdowne Centre in Kamloops is relief full time Life Skills Outreach Worker to join our Mental Health (MH) Treatment, Support and Recover (TSR) team at the Lansdown Centre in Kamloops, B.C.
This relief position is until the return of the incumbent.

We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and skilled individual who thrives in a dynamic, community-based environment and is committed to supporting individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness and/or substance use challenges. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of psychosocial rehabilitation and harm reduction principles, along with the ability to deliver person-centered care through outreach, direct support, crisis intervention, and advocacy. The successful candidate will be adept at building trusting relationships, empowering clients to develop essential life skills, and facilitating access to housing, medical care, social and recreational opportunities, and employment supports. The right individual will also demonstrate professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and the capacity to navigate complex systems, foster community connections, and advocate effectively for clients, ensuring they receive the comprehensive supports needed to enhance their quality of life.
The successful applicant will be required to carry out the physical and mental demands of the position.

What will you work on?
Our Treatment, Support & Recovery Services can help you with your journey to mental wellness and recovery. Services may include: - Screening & assessments - Medication administration, review & monitoring - Counselling, treatment & recovery plans - Crisis intervention - Life skills support & education - Self-management support - Relapse prevention - Care coordination & referrals.
This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team providing a comprehensive array of services within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders and who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result. This position will provide these services offering a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities inclusive of outreach, community and facility care.
Scheduling information:
Shift types are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Friday.

Education, Training and Experience:

Mental Health Worker Certificate or Human Services Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certification.

Two years recent, related experience working with individuals living with mental illness, and/or substance use problems/disorders, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Food Safe Level 1 Certificate

Basic First Aid Certificate
-
Non-violent crisis intervention training
-
Valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5)
