We have an immediate need for a Calibration Technician to join our Mission Assurance Team. In this role, you will play a key part in the Demonstration of Compliance to Customer and internal requirements, Control, Accessibility, Safe Storage and Accuracy of all records of the Quality Management System at Raytheon ELCAN Optical Technologies. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide and coordinate the calibration, repair, and maintenance of both electronic and mechanical test equipment as per department operating procedures.
  • Collect, input and maintain calibration records within GAGEtrak software.
  • Ability to coordinate work activities effectively with team members both inside and outside of the calibration function.
  • Provide support to the Process Planner and/or the Assembly Test Planner when calibration instructions are created or when revisions are required.
  • Willingness to be reassigned to other responsibilities or shifts within the department based on prioritized business needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow rules and regulations. Willing to comply with all pertinent Raytheon Environmental, Health, & Safety Organizational Directives and Instructions and other applicable Program and Site Directives and Raytheon Company Policies
  • Share in the commitment towards a positive workplace culture
  • Employ best practices and methodology; CORE, statistical & analytical tools & processes to anticipate and prevent quality issues
  • Prioritize work using analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Responsible to manage relationships with manufacturing cost centers to determine quality assessment needs
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to prioritize and organize work

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Completion of Post-Secondary in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Manufacturing) or a certified Mechanical Apprenticeship. Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) accreditation or equivalent would be an asset.
  • Experience in reading, understanding, and using drawings, work instructions, and written policies to guide work efforts
  • Good understanding of general metrology, measurement & calibration systems, measurement uncertainty and Quality Systems & Standards.
  • Familiarization with ISO17025 standards is considered an asset.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), LN, and/or Gagetrak preferred.
  • Experience identifying areas for process improvement (cost reductions, use of resources, policies/procedures, products)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, self-motivated, dependable and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a manufacturing/quality assurance environment preferred
