Job Description:

Are you looking to be a part of a growing and dynamic team within a leading national life insurance company? Beneva Insurance in seeking a disability case manager to manage long-term disability claims on a6-month contractbasis.

Vacancy: 1 Temporary

Salary Range:**$53 590 - $ 66 987 /year*This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered depends on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications and experience.

**Summary of Role &**Responsibilities:

• Provide Long Term disability claims assessments, specifically for a block of permanent disability claims
• Identify, obtain and analyze key medical, contractual and eligibility information
• Develop proactive case management plans that identify direction, issues and action plan
• Review group contract provisions and submitted medical information in order to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies when assessing disability benefit eligibility
• Communicate and consult with internal/external providers, customers, Third Party Administrators, Employers and Plan Administrators
• Obtain medical and functional information through interviews, standard and customized questionnaires and written correspondence directed at claimants, policyholders and physicians
• Execute problem resolution: identify, investigate, resolve or develop recommendations to address and resolve issues identified by internal and external parties
• Proactively acquires and improves knowledge of tools, policies, processes, products and services
• Collaborates on specific projects, and carries out any other administrative tasks upon request

Education and Experience

• University degree preferably in Health Sciences or related disability experience
• Prefer one or more industry courses completed and working towards an industry designation (e.g. ALHC, FLMI, GBA)
• Sound knowledge and ability to apply appropriate disability risk management tools and techniques
• Ability to plan, develop and implement goal-oriented claim management plans
• Strong ability to interpret and apply group contract provisions
• Sound knowledge of medical terminology, medical management and pharmacology is an asset
• Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
