Pickering Casino Resort is seeking a Full-time Facilities Maintenance Technician!

Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager or designate, this position is responsible for general and specialized maintenance and repairs to site property, including regular compliance inspections and preventative maintenance. Responsibilities will include maintenance/service of HVAC systems, as well carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting duties as required. You will maintain a clean and safe work environment and demonstrate the utmost integrity and the highest caliber of customer service and respect to guests and employees. Above all else, this position must lead by example to create Great Experiences and Memories for all guests and colleagues!

The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:

  • Responsible for washroom repairs such as daily preventative maintenance of washroom fixtures;
  • Changing of hand soap/hand sanitizer;
  • Unclogging toilets and sinks using various tools and equipment;
  • Changing/replacing burnt out light bulbs;
  • Wall repairs and painting;
  • Some carpentry work;
  • Carpet and floor repairs;
  • Vacuum cleaner maintenance;
  • Preventative maintenance on stand-alone HVAC units;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Comply with safety procedures including use of required safety equipment and identify unsafe practices or conditions;
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, vendors and regulators;
  • Adheres to all AGCO, GCGC, departmental and HR policies as they relate to functions of the role;
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations; Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A secondary school diploma or an equivalence or combination of work experience and education;
  • Experience in a related field of 1 or more years with formal training in one or more of the related trade professions would be an asset;
  • Strong organization, interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills;
  • Certification/license from one of the trade professions would be an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, customer service and communication skills;
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow employees and management as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment; Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays and overnights. The hours of work will be based on operational needs. Ready to embark on your next adventure?
