Job Description
- Designing, under the supervision of a senior engineer, structural components of various structural system to meet the Canadian codes;
- Preparing engineering service proposals for senior review;
- Coordinating on projects with clients, government and/or regulatory bodies as well as contractors;
- Participating in project coordination and developing meeting summaries and actions items for the structural group.
- Performing field inspection to review construction works for general compliance.
- Performing on-site visual inspection of various structure and developing, under senior supervision, a structural assessment report.
- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Completion of a university degree in Structural Engineering;
- Good knowledge of the Canadian design codes and standards for structural engineering (CSA A23.3, CSA S16, NBCC)
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit;
- Working knowledge of structural design software (ETABS, SAFE, SFRAME, SAP, Woodworks, etc.);
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and time management;
- Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
