POSITION SCOPE
The Project Technologist supports the Planning and Infrastructure Department by assisting with the coordination, documentation, monitoring, and communication of community infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, Planning and Infrastructure team members, contractors, engineers, consultants, and other professional staff, the Project Technologist helps ensure project information is accurate, timely, and communicated clearly to support safe, effective, and accountable project delivery for the First Nation.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Post-secondary diploma or degree in civil engineering technology, construction management, project management, environmental technology, architectural technology, infrastructure planning, or a related field. Experience supporting infrastructure, construction, capital works, public works, housing, facilities, or community development projects is considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Project Manager and Planning and Infrastructure team members to provide daily project updates, or updates as required. Gather and confirm project site information, including quantities, measurements, progress information, and other project-related details as directed by the Project Manager.
Support the Project Manager in preparing weekly and monthly project reports
Attend contractor site meetings with the Project Manager to gather, record, and disseminate information as required, including change requests, site instructions, changes to scope of work, and any related cost or schedule impacts for the Project Manager’s review.
