E-Learning Long-Term Occasional Teacher - Mohawk Language
Applications are invited from qualified DSBN Teachers in Good Standing with OCT for temporary long-term occasional teaching position of E-Learning - Mohawk Language (LMNAO) for the 2026-2027 school year.
Teachers who are interested are required to complete the expression of interest form included in this posting.
E-Learning teachers will work their full contract entitlement in a physical DSBN school location. Teachers will maintain their full contract entitlement at their current school.

Qualifications: Any senior level teaching qualification and Teaching Mohawk AQ
E-Learning Teachers are expected to follow best practices for asynchronous learning including but not limite****d to:
- Design and facilitate accessible, engaging, and responsive asynchronous learning experiences that reflect a commitment to a 100% culture and the belief that all students can succeed.
- Maintain a consistent teacher presence through regular posting of content, learning tasks, and communication in D2L.
- Ensure courses are accessible, well organized, and aligned with Universal Design for Learning principles.
- Work collaboratively with the Technology Enabled Learning Team (TELT) using pre‑populated course materials, where applicable, to support consistency, alignment, and shared expectations across eLearning courses.
- Use a variety of instructional, assessment, and feedback strategies to support student learning, engagement, and achievement.
- Ensure all course content, learning activities, and assessment practices align with A.P. 4-04 and related administrative procedures.
- Implement Tier 1 intervention strategies through proactive monitoring, timely feedback, regular communication, and early outreach to support student engagement, attendance, progress, and credit accumulation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, marks, engagement, credit alerts, and relevant documentation.
- Provide appropriate accommodations and supports for students with IEPs, multilingual language learner needs, and other identified needs in collaboration with school-based staff.
- Collaborate with home schools, In-School Teams, TELT, and other relevant staff to coordinate Tier 2–3 intervention strategies for students requiring targeted or intensive support.
- Notify the home school and document concerns in the Student Information System when issues arise related to attendance, engagement, achievement, or credit completion.
E-learning teachers will be expected to collaborate with the eLearning consultant and work with their other teacher colleagues to maintain consistency course-to-course. Consistency pieces would include but not be limited to content choice and delivery, layout of D2L shells, gradebook, daily student workload and timely feedback. The level of consistency should also be informed by individual/class student strengths and needs. This is especially important for courses with multiple sections. Teachers will also be expected to ensure all posted content and activities follow guidelines and directions found in A.P. 4-04 and other related Admin Procedures.

Reason for Posting: Temporary Funding
Rate of Pay: In accordance with the OSSTF D22 Collective Agreement salary scale - $292.52 to $618.48 per day, prorated to the FTE of the assignment.
