SUMMARY
The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for full cycle quality control/assurance and the management of the project QA/QC team.
Location: Fabrication Shop - Edmonton, AB
Anticipated Start Date: October 16, 2025
Shift: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days
JOB DUTIES
- Review all project technical documents prior to commencement of work
- Completion of all quality activities related to project construction/fabrication
- Perform visual inspections and ensure compliance to the relevant construction codes
- Implement the inspection and testing component of the Work Description and Inspection and Test Plans
- Verify or supervise the verification of the completion of all punch list items and WDITP signoffs
- Establish and maintain an electronic tracking/reporting system for all NDE and inspection activities
- Supervise welder testing (ASME/CWB) and manage records
- Perform the duties of the CWB Level II welding inspector as required
- Orientate new employees with the Company’s quality system
- Coordinate with site staff including field superintendents and craft responsible for the test/inspection of systems
- Review welder performance qualification records and ensure welders are qualified for the work being performed
- Schedule NDE and post weld heat treatment
- Identify and verify non-conformances and close out with corrective actions
- Create, review, and copy turnover packages
- Submit turnover packages to the Client upon completion
- Other duties as requested by management
- Various other duties as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
- CWB Level 2 Certification is required
- Minimum of 5 years’ of related experience with a level 2 certificate
- Industrial and/or fabrication experience is considered an asset
- Must be comfortable communicating with the Client, Jurisdictional Authority, and sub-contractors on a regular basis
- Sound knowledge of welding technology and processes, CWB & ASME codes
- Sound knowledge of steel fabrication inspection standards and NDT methods and practices
- Certified as ABSA Welding Examiner, CSA W47.1 Welding Supervisor, and NACE Level 2 would be an asset
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including database management and creation
SKILLS
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
- Able to interact with all levels of management
- Detail-orientated
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in use of MS Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner
- Organized and self-motivated
