We are looking for aLog Yard Supervisorto join ourLavington Divisionlocated inColdstream, British Columbia. Our Lavington Division is where Tolko’s story began over 60 years ago. Today, at Lavington, we safely and sustainably produce 238 million board feet of lumber per year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

A strong commitment to safety, quality, lumber recovery, and production efficiency.

Minimum3-5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a lumber manufacturing environment.
-
Post-secondary education in forestry, sawmill business or industrial wood processing is considered an asset.
-
A proventrack record in leadership and safety performance.
-
Strongorganizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills.
-
Superior computer skills.

In this role, you will:
-Live the Tolko valueswith an emphasis on safety, respect, progressiveness, integrity, open communication and profit.

Develop and empower your team todeliver results. -Coordinates work and equipment schedules within the log yardand mobile equipment to achieve planned production targets.
-
Be responsible foryard inventory managementand ensuring the safety of the contract log haulers on site.

Be accountable for thesafe operation and support the maintenance of all divisional mobile equipment. -Promote a culture of safetyby ensuring work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures and that risks are identified and mitigated.

Build strong relationships and maintain effective communication.
