Reporting to the Project Manager Lead, the Project Manager is accountable for managing all aspects of multidisciplined construction projects, including supervision, scheduling, procurement, safety oversight, subcontractor coordination and cost control. This role plays a critical part in ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards, while cultivating strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and field teams.
How You’ll Add Value
- Supervise construction projects to maintain high service standards, ensuring work aligns with projections and addressing any required changes promptly
- Manage and direct project teams through clear communication and follow-up to achieve project goals and objectives
- Establish project procedures consistent with contractual requirements, codes, safety management guides, and industry standards
- Ensure project scope, schedule, and budget are clearly defined, understood, and aligned with client and other project participants
- Determine, track and manage schedule and budget progress, identifying and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with deadlines
- Conduct onsite inspections for tender or post-tender analysis, assess risks, and identify activities not shown in tender documents
- Attend and participate in onsite meetings with clients, owners, staff, sub-trades, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Coordinate training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed
- Maintain proactive communication with clients, making necessary adjustments to meet their needs while ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and H.Wilson’s[CN1] objectives
- Build positive relationships through regular and intentional interaction with the infrastructure construction community, including consultants, associations, and other stakeholders
- Assemble bid files, including development information, and maintain accurate contact information for suppliers, subcontractors, and clients
- Identify and secure approvals for changes in project scope, budget, and/or schedule while maintaining open communication with clients
- Actively demonstrate a commitment to safety by engaging senior management, participating in training, attending weekly safety meetings, conducting worksite inspections, and addressing safety concerns in a timely manner
- Support Site Foremen and Superintendents in conducting safety meetings, reviewing safety minutes, and ensuring concerns are resolved
What You Bring
- 5+ years of relevant experience, with experience in heavy civil construction and crew supervision considered an asset
- CET, Construction Project Management Degree, or P.Eng. designation preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or intent to pursue certification is an asset
- Gold Seal Certificate in Project Management is considered an asset or intent to pursue
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with InEight and D365 software is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Operator’s License with a Driver’s Abstract showing no more than 6 demerits and no major infractions
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including overtime, and travel to various remote areas as required
