Who you are
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, specifically with exposure to month-end close, intercompany transactions, and financial systems improvement
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Certification: CPA designation, or very close to completion
- Technical Savvy: High proficiency in NetSuite (ERP). Experience with accounting tools like Float, Panax, and TravelPerk is a strong asset
- Analytical Mindset: Strong ability in month-over-month variance analysis, accrual management, and ad-hoc financial modeling
- Software Skills: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Soft Skills: You are a proactive problem-solver with high attention to detail. You thrive in collaborative environments and can communicate complex financial insights clearly
What the job involves
- As a Senior Accountant I (P3), you will play a key role in ensuring the financial accuracy and operational efficiency of our global operations. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will handle full-cycle accounting tasks, optimize our financial systems, and provide critical insights into our spending patterns
- Financial Operations & Month-End: Drive month-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries, bank reconciliations, and amortization for prepaids, leases, and intangibles
- Loyalty & Rewards Management: Take ownership of the Player Loyalty/Rewards liability by performing regular reconciliations of point breakage, redemption costs, and outstanding obligations
- Accounts Receivable: Drive AR collection efforts through strategic follow-ups and collaboration with Account Managers to ensure timely resolution of overdue accounts
- Tax & Compliance: Prepare monthly sales tax returns and perform related account reconciliations. Assist with intercompany transactions and global consolidation efforts across multiple entities
- Audit & Reporting: Collaborate on annual audit requests and financial reviews. Support monthly variance analysis and executive commentary, providing insights into budget vs. actual trends
- Analysis & Judgment: Analyze spending patterns to identify cost-saving opportunities and exercise professional judgment to improve spend controls
- System Optimization: Act as a "Netsuite Architect" by leading the improvement of system functionality, automating manual workflows, and documenting financial processes
- Asset Management: Manage fixed assets within NetSuite, including detailed analysis of additions and disposals
