JOB SUMMARY
The Snow Plow Operators perform snow removal duties with a focus on quality and timely execution. They operate heavy-duty pick-up trucks and loaders with mounted snow plows and salters in a safe and productive manner. Maintaining record keeping of work completed, performing equipment inspections and completing service logs, the Snow Plow Operators will be working mostly independently or with a team for more severe weather events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Plowing, snow removal and salting of Grouse Mountain parking lots, roadways and surrounding areas
- Operating various types of vehicles including pickup trucks, forklifts, skid steer and/or backhoe loaders, snow blowers
- Safe operation of all plow vehicles, salters and heavy machinery in adverse conditions
- General maintenance of all plow trucks, plows and salters
- Shoveling and removal of snow from all public areas, walkways and stairs
- Record keeping
- Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position reports directly to the Mountain Operations Manager and Base Operations Assistant Manager and does not require any direct supervisory responsibilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES
- Available to be on call for evenings and overnight shifts as required
- Must be punctual, reliable and responsible
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
- Must be organized and possess a strong work ethic
- Successful team contributor and able to work independently
- Perform tasks safely and efficiently
- Ability to work outdoors in varying winter weather conditions
- Must be mechanically inclined
- Plow equipment/heavy equipment operation experience preferred
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Minimum Class 5 Driver’s License
WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours of Operation are weather dependent. Due to the nature of the business, this position requires flexibility in terms of your work schedule. A variety of work schedules may include a variety of start times, including shifts on weekends and statutory holidays. Shifts require standing for long periods of time, lifting, twisting, and other forms of manual tasks.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$21.16/hour to $25.18
