About the role
Join the Park Opportunity Garden
At Park, we believe a world-class landscape starts from the ground up—and that includes our team. We don’t just offer jobs; we provide a fertile space where you can plant your ambitions and watch them bloom. Our culture is built on a simple philosophy: When we invest in you, you invest in us.
The "Opportunity Garden" Framework
We’ve designed our employee experience around three core pillars to ensure you don’t just work—you flourish:
- NURTURE: We Get It – We provide a supportive environment built on Integrity & Trust. Your wellbeing is our priority; we focus on Working Safe & Working Smart to create a frictionless environment with the tools you need to succeed without the burnout.
- GROW: Building Capacity – We don’t leave your career to chance. Through our Employee Success initiative, we provide intentional growth plans, training, and resources to expand your skillset. If you have the ambition, we provide the ladder.
- THRIVE: You Want It – This is where your "Can-Do" Attitude meets Empowerment. We trust you to be a problem-solver with the autonomy to tackle challenges head-on. We take pride in the tangible "before and after" of our labor.
The Role: Equipment Operator
While we provide the environment, we need you to provide the expertise. In this role, you will be the primary architect of precision and mobilization, operating heavy machinery to shape landscape projects and ensuring our fleet is safely transported and maintained for year-round success. From excavation to snow clearing, your skill behind the controls is what brings our designs to life.
Your Daily Impact:
- Precision Machine Operation: Operate excavators and skid steers for grading, trenching, and site preparation, meeting exact elevation tolerances for pool and hardscape projects.
- Safe Mobilization: Transport heavy equipment using company trucks and trailers, ensuring proper load securement and compliance with provincial transportation regulations.
- Equipment Stewardship: Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance (greasing, fluid checks) to ensure machinery remains safe and reliable.
- Safety Leadership: Adhere to OHS regulations and participate in daily hazard assessments and toolbox meetings to maintain a hazard-free job site.
- Winter Coordination: Transition to the role of Snow Removal Project Coordinator from November through April, overseeing specific divisions and clearing commercial properties during peak snow events.
The Essentials for Growth (KSAs)
To truly thrive in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation of skills and the right mindset:
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of provincial transportation requirements for hauling equipment and Alberta OHS regulations for heavy machinery.
- Skills: Expert proficiency in operating excavators and skid steers; ability to read and interpret site plans and grade stakes.
- Abilities: Minimum of two years of heavy equipment experience; valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract; physical stamina to climb in/out of machinery and lift up to 50 lbs.
Ready to Branch Out? Your Future Starts Here
At Park, we don’t just hire—we plant the seeds for long-term success. If you’re looking for a workplace where your "Can-Do" attitude is rewarded with real opportunity, you’ve found it.
