About the Role
Bandstra Transportation is seeking a highly organized, detail-orientedHSE Administrative Assistantat our Abbotsford, B.C terminal to support our Health, Safety & Environment team. This role plays a key part in maintaining regulatory compliance, ensuring accurate safety documentation, and helping the HSE department run smoothly. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with confidential information.
Compensation:$25-$35/hour depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HSE Team
- Maintain, track, and update safety documentation, including training records, incident reports, inspections, and certifications
- Support incident reporting processes by gathering information, entering data, and assisting with follow-up actions
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations by keeping documentation current and organized
- Prepare monthly safety metrics, data summaries, and reports
- Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling, email management, and document formatting
- Coordinate PPE, first aid, and spill kit inventory, ordering, and distribution
- Update various policies, procedures and plans
Qualifications
- Polite, courteous, and personable
- Organized, reliable, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, file management, online contractor management)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Articulate with excellent written communication skills
- Able to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality
- Knowledge of occupational health & safety regulations is an asset, but training will be provided
- Previous administrative experience (HSE or transportation/industrial environment an asset)
- Willing to learn!
