About the role
Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. (“CC&LFG”) Vancouver, BC Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Manager of Treasury to join our Corporate Accounting Team. The Manager of Treasury will work alongside a team of finance professionals, to support the treasury and accounts payable function for CC&LFG’s group of affiliates and corporate team.
This position requires an experienced individual with demonstrated skills managing an Accounts Payable team and overseeing all aspects of a company’s treasury function. Building strong relationships with banking service providers and having a thorough understanding of the various online banking platforms and commercial banking processes is necessary to succeed in this position.
What You Will Do

Treasury Management:
-
Develop and implement cash management policies, procedures, and controls to minimize risk

Manage the treasury function and maintenance of banking relationships between various banks and the CC&LFG accounting team

Review liquidity needs, working capital and overall cash positions of the business

Responsible for the review and approval of vendor payments and the creation of an approval hierarchy and delegation of authority policy

Manage the accounts receivable and collections function (i.e., monitoring aged receivables)

Accounts Payable Management:
-
Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process: i.e., processing invoices, payment approvals and expense reporting, while ensuring accurate coding, matching, and posting of invoices

Manage the employee expense reimbursement process – experience with Concur is an asset

Prepare regular accounts payable reports, including aging analysis, cash flow projections, and vendor spend analysis

Support the finance team in month-end and year-end close processes

Banking Relationships:
-
Act as the online account administrator for all online banking platforms – i.e., process or approve profile and account changes, setup new bank accounts

Establish and maintain relationships with the banks, financial institutions and other external stakeholders
-
Administer the setup process for creating new bank accounts, including the completion of KYC, AML and all other required compliance setup forms

Oversee the migration and setup of existing bank accounts to new online banking platforms
What You Bring We believe that this role is ideal for a professional accountant who is a few years beyond obtaining their designation and who already has some practical experience outside public practice. Desired attributes include:
- CPA designation with 5+ years of relevant business experience. Insurance industry experience would be an asset. An experienced Certified Treasury Professional with equivalent experience would also be considered
- University degree preferably specialized in Business or Finance
- Three years of experience managing an Accounts Payable function
- Experience managing employee expense report systems – i.e. Concur
- Experience managing Treasury related functions including relationship management. Knowledge of Royal Bank online banking platforms would be an asset
- Experience managing staff in a finance operations role with demonstrated ability to create strong employee engagement. Staff development and coaching experience is required
- Strong understanding of ERP payment and payment application functions (i.e., Yardi, P2P)
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-Solving Skills: Proven track record of effectively identifying and solving complex financial and operational problems. Ability to think critically, analyze situations, and develop creative solutions focused on efficiency and improving existing processes;
- Highly organized with an ability to multitask while being able to meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated, high degree of ownership and responsibility, able to work independently and manage a team
