The Granite Club is looking for a Seasonal Summer Activity Camp Counselor from June 15th to September 4th, who will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating environment for the children in the Camp programs. This permits parents to participate more freely in sports and social activities offered at the club.

Primary Responsibilities
- Be available to work from June 15th to September 4th
- Be on time for shift and ensure all materials are ready 15 mins before camp starts
- Express drop off between 8:50 am – 9:05am ensuring safe check in and out.
- Maintain professionalism
- Be motivated and have high energy throughout the day
- Learning best practices for teaching camp activities, including working with campers with special needs, using inclusive teaching methods, and general camp management
- Take attendance before and after each transiting to ensure all campers are accounted for
- Model good behaviour for campers as it relates to sportsmanship, manners, and respectfulness
- Develop age-appropriate weekly program plans to be implemented on a daily basis
- Lead and support campers as they participate in age-appropriate activities
- Monitoring campers to ensure compliance with camp rules and prevent accidents
- Reporting and recording details of accidents or incidents
- Participant in regular staff meetings
- Participant in training session prior to the start of camp
- Be able to enter the swimming pool shallow end everyday with campers
- Work with other camp counsellor to plan and coordinate camp events
- Provide an engaging, stimulating, and safe environment for campers to participant in
- Ensure First Aid Kit is up to date and with group at all times
- Provide parents with positive feedback of their child’s day
- Be aware of any medical forms, alternate pick up person, allergies, or dietary restrictions of campers
- Make sure area is cleaned at the end of each class and at the end of the day
Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12
- Valid CPR & Emergency First Aid Required.
- A responsible, patient person who must have a genuine love for children.
- Experience working with preschool aged children would be considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp counsellor an asset.
- Previous experience with one of the following: Art, Drama, Science, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Dance, French, Tennis, Squash, and Badminton is an asset.
- Required to work a flexible schedule including weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $17.60 per hour.
