Description Your role at GEI. Are you a soon-to-be graduate eager to launch your career in civil engineering? Join our team as a Civil Engineering CoOp and be part of impactful land development and municipal infrastructure projects that shape communities. Starting in May 2026, this is your opportunity to gain hands-on experience, grow your skills, and work alongside industry experts who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Contribute to the preparation of plans, profiles, and detailed drawings for a wide range of projects — from site plans and subdivisions to road reconstructions and water/wastewater facilities.
  • Support fieldwork including construction site inspections, topographic surveys, and layout.
  • Assist with design calculations for storm sewers, sanitary sewers, watermains, and stormwater management facilities.
  • Work on preliminary and detailed designs for grading, drainage, and servicing plans.
  • Help prepare construction cost estimates, tender documents, and specifications.
  • Take on additional opportunities to learn and grow as assigned.
  • G license and access

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education in Civil Engineering Technology (or equivalent experience).
  • Aptitude with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Clear and confident communication skills (oral and written).
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and collaborate in a team setting.
  • Physical and environmental requirements for this position are available upon request.

Nice-to-Haves (Assets)

  • Familiarity with stormwater management practices or low-impact development strategies.
  • Experience with Revit software.
  • Previous exposure to construction or design-related work.
  • Experience in a consulting or multi-disciplinary environment.
