About the role

Job Summary
The Pressed Steel Frames and Doors Fabricator is responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and finishing pressed steel door frames and doors according to technical drawings, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role involves prepping premanufactured steel doors according to the required hardware, fabrication, welding, cutting, bending, and surface preparation to produce durable and accurate pressed steel frames.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate pressed steel door frames and steel doors as per drawings and specifications provided
  • Measure, cut, bend, punch, and prep steel doors and frames using appropriate tools and machines
  • Perform welding (MIG/spot welding) to assemble frames and doors
  • Grind, smooth, and finish welded joints and surfaces
  • Ensure correct alignment, dimensions, and tolerances of fabricated products
  • Install hinges, stiffeners, lugs, and other fittings as required
  • Sort out hardware according to the hardware groups provided by the consultant
  • Inspect finished products for quality, strength, and accuracy
  • Assist loading materials for delivery
  • Maintain tools, machines, and a clean, safe work area
  • Follow workplace safety rules and fabrication standards
  • Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet production targets

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in pressed steel fabrication, metal work, or door/frame manufacturing
  • Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings and measurements
  • Knowledge of welding techniques and metal finishing
  • Knowledge of industrial and commercial door hardware such as levers, door closers, panic bars, deadbolts etc.
  • Skilled in using fabrication tools, machinery, powered tools, grinders, hand tools etc.
  • Good understanding of materials, gauges, and fabrication processes
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Physical ability to handle steel materials and work in a fabrication environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade Certificate in Fabrication or Welding
  • Prior experience in manufacturing pressed steel frames and doors
  • Prior experience in installation of commercial door hardware

Work Environment

  • Factory or workshop-based
  • Exposure to noise, heat, and heavy materials
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required
  • Occasional site installation of doors/frames/door hardware
