About You / What We Are Looking For
The City of Coquitlam is seeking an innovative, creative and driven New Mobility Program Manager who will be responsible for advancing the City’s transportation electrification, including all planning, policy and program efforts in the community.
Reporting to the Manager, Transportation Planning, the New Mobility Program Manager is responsible for coordinating and advancing innovative and sustainable transportation options, including but not limited to shared mobility services (micromobility and car share), vehicle electrification, education and communications efforts that are aligned with Transportation policy. This position will oversee the completion, adoption and subsequent updates of the E-Mobility Strategy. This position will also contribute to updates of other City plans and policies, including but not limited to the Transportation Plan, Green Fleet Strategy and Climate Action Plan, community plans, Bylaws, zoning, permitting, and building code compliance.
The position is responsible for establishing, and maintaining strong and strategic partnerships with a variety of key internal and external stakeholders; including, various City departments, partners (TransLink, BC Hydro, Fortis BC, etc.), community groups, the business sector, shared mobility operators, consultants, and other levels of government. This position is partially grant funded with funding secured for at least two years.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Responsible for planning, policy and program improvements in order to increase transportation electrification in the City of Coquitlam;
- Responsible for managing the planning, operations, monitoring, and reporting of shared mobility in the City of Coquitlam;
- Providing public education and outreach on New Mobility, and sustainable transportation options to the community;
- Liaise with a variety of internal and external stakeholders by leading and participating in various corporate, community, local, regional, and provincial committees, work groups, project teams, and events that are aimed at promoting and advancing the City’s transportation initiatives;
- Preparing reports and presentations for key stakeholders, energy conservation partners, advisory committees, senior management and Council;
- Developing, analyzing and tracking corporate and community transportation action goals, targets and priorities;
- Preparing budgets and business cases for new mobility projects;
- Coordinating the implementation of energy efficiency transportation electrification projects;
- Monitoring new mobility projects and regional trends;
- Advancing a culture of workplace sustainability and innovation with other departments and divisions;
- Review and support the work of other City employees who are assisting on new mobility initiatives, and;
- Other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
In addition to a Bachelors Degree in planning, public health, environment, transportation engineering or a related field, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in New Mobility related fields, including but not limited to shared mobility, vehicle electrification, behaviour change, education, transportation planning, preferably within a municipal or regional government setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with a Masters Degree or a professional designation in engineering, environmental planning, project management or registered professional Planners.
What We Offer:
This excluded position has an annual salary range of $113,373 - $127,529. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
