Description
- Develop accurate cost estimates for industrial projects, including structural, mechanical, and refrigeration components.
- Review project plans, specs, and drawings to understand scope and technical requirements.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes , especially for refrigeration, insulation, and climate control systems.
- Conduct site visits and collaborate with project teams to assess constructability and logistics.
- Prepare and present bid packages and pricing breakdowns to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Analyze risks, value engineering opportunities , and cost-saving strategies specific to cold storage construction.
- Stay current on market pricing , construction methods, and code requirements for temperature-controlled environments.
- Work closely with project managers and engineers to ensure alignment on scope and budget.
Profile
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial construction estimation. Cold storage and temperature controlled facility experience is an asset.
- A minimum of 1 completed food processing/manufacturing projects is an asset
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with estimation software and tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Preferred: Degree or diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, with PMP certification or similar being a plus.
- In-depth knowledge of OBC.
