About the role
This role will be on a temporary basis, approximately 3 months. The Safety and Compliance Coordinator work closely with the Corporate Safety Manager, Operations Manager, and employees to ensure safe work practices, policies and all other aspects of the company safety program are being adhered to. As well as reviving and controlling existing policies and procedures.
Operating from our Cold Lake main shop. This position is expected to be a 60% office administrative and 40% field time split per week.
Duties and responsibilities

Adhere and maintain Company Core Values

Work with the Corporate Safety Manager, Operations Manager and the companies’ employees to promote a positive safety culture for the job site.

Ensure orientations are complete and all required training is in place for all new employees to ensure complete and effective understanding of potential risks and expected behaviors within the workplace. ?

Prepare and present monthly safety meetings with input and collaboration from Operations team. (Manage the process)

Working in conjunction with the operations team to ensure compliance with company and client standards as well as all applicable government and regulatory requirements.

Work with operations team in conducting effective hazard analysis for various projects. Provide coaching and guidance to field employees in conducting effective field level hazard assessments,
-
Ensure Safe Work Practices and Procedures are current and complete for all work being conducted on site. Identify missing or incomplete procedures. ?Manage the review of these procedures on company set intervals.

Assist in investigation of incidents thoroughly and effectively, and then respond appropriately as required, including communicating to client, training and following up with supervisors and employees. ?(Who is responsible for preparing and ensuring timelines are met)

Diligently encourage and promote safe behaviors at all employee levels. Set a high personal standard of compliance.

Assist operations staff and conduct site inspections at various field locations as required. Ensure inspections are completed per company safety program and client specific KPI’s Share inspection learnings report with operations team monthly.

Assist in gathering site statistical information and tracking trends to identify potential issues. Enter safety statistics into tracking sheets.

Manage company issued safety equipment and P.P.E. by ensuring adequate supply in stock room. Complete a cycle count on inventory weekly.

Manage company training matrix and coordinate booking required training for employees. Send weekly compliance report to operations team.

Assist recruiter / HR with onboarding process of new employees. Ensure safety compliance is met prior to new employee start date.

Review and audit log books and TDG documentation for completeness and compliance with applicable legislation

Qualifications
Qualifications include:

NCSO Certification or relevant safety experience in mechanical maintenance and/or fluid hauling industry.

5-10yrs of safety related experience
-
Possess current Standard First Aid Certificate, CSTS, H2S.?
-
Understanding of current legislation, Codes of Practice, Bulletins and other safe work practice requirements and recommendations are an asset.?
-
Confidence, with the proven ability to build credibility and strong partnerships at all levels.?
-
Ability to speak in front of large groups of employees.
-
Energetic, self-motivated, creative and especially positive outlook.?
