Position Summary
We are seeking a Site & Survey Representative to join our Engineering (TecE) Applications team. Our applications team relies on accurate field information to deliver solutions that perform exactly as intended in real-world conditions. The Site & Survey Representative plays an important role in that process by serving as the connection between project sites and our internal engineering teams. This is a field-focused role where gathering information, observing field conditions, and ensuring important project details are documented accurately are key. You will represent Tecoustics on construction and customer sites, conducting site surveys, installation reviews, inspections, and measurement verification activities that support our engineering, applications, and project teams.
Success in this role is not defined by having every technical answer on-site. Rather, it comes from the ability to gather accurate information, recognize when field conditions differ from design intent, and communicate them effectively to the appropriate internal experts. The information you collect will directly support engineering decisions, project execution, fabrication activities, and customer service. It is a role for someone who values accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail, and who understands that reliable field data is fundamental to successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct site surveys, field inspections, and installation reviews at construction and customer sites Serve as Tecoustics' on-site representative, maintaining a professional presence while supporting engineering and project objectives Take accurate field measurements and verify existing site conditions relating to fabricated systems, equipment, assemblies, and installed products Observe and document installation progress, identifying completed work, outstanding items, and visible deficiencies or discrepancies Collect detailed site information, photographs, sketches, measurements, and supporting documentation required for engineering evaluation and decision-making Prepare organized field reports, photo logs, deficiency records, and site documentation to support engineering, applications, and project management activities Identify obvious installation, mechanical, or construction concerns and communicate findings to the appropriate engineering personnel for review and resolution Assist with site visits related to project quoting, pre-construction reviews, installation verification, deficiency follow-up, and customer coordination Coordinate effectively with engineering staff, project managers, contractors, consultants, and customer representatives Support project execution by ensuring field information is accurate, complete, and communicated in a timely manner Maintain compliance with all site-specific health, safety, and security requirements Travel regularly throughout the Greater Toronto Area, with occasional travel across Ontario, Quebec, and the United States as required
Required Skills and Qualifications
Our design team is trusted with the details that make a project buildable, and the reason is consistent: they are precise, patient, and genuinely detail-oriented, and they take pride in getting it exactly right. That’s the person we’re looking to add. The successful candidate will have: A post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Engineering/Construction/Architectural technology or management, or a related technical discipline Previous experience working in construction, field inspection, installation, commissioning, HVAC, manufacturing, engineering support, or a related site-based technical environment Knowledge of construction practices, building systems, mechanical systems, HVAC equipment, or industrial installations The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation Strong observational skills and the confidence to identify and document conditions that are incomplete, inconsistent, or visibly incorrect Excellent attention to detail; maintains accuracy in measurements, documentation, reporting, and field records Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and professionally Sound judgement and professionalism; understands when to gather information independently and when to escalate issues to engineering experts A methodical and organized approach to managing site visits, reports, documentation, travel schedules, and follow-up activities The ability to work independently in the field while remaining connected to internal project teams A commitment to safety and experience working on active construction sites while complying with site-specific safety requirements A valid driver's license and the ability to travel regularly throughout Ontario The ability to travel occasionally to Quebec and the United States as required Bilingual English and French communication skills are considered a strong asset for supporting projects and customers in Quebec
Professional Development
While previous construction and field experience are important, you do not need to be an expert in vibration control, acoustics, thermal movement, or our specialized engineered systems on your first day. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop deep technical knowledge while working directly with experienced engineers, project managers, and subject-matter experts. Over time, you will build an understanding of how our systems are designed, manufactured, installed, and evaluated in the field, becoming a trusted resource who helps bridge the gap between engineering design and real-world project execution.
Thank you for your interest in our position. To confirm, this position represents a current vacancy within our organization.
Only those applicants that are selected for interviews will be contacted. We are committed to providing equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. Accommodations are available at all stages of the recruitment process, at the candidate’s request.
Please note that your application and any related materials you provide may be processed, stored, reviewed, or otherwise used by systems in our recruitment selection process that may interact with AI tools.
