Onsite work location

Located at 1023 Herring Gull Way, Parksville, BC V9P 1W3, this full-time position offers a consistent Monday-to-Friday schedule, 40 hours per week.

As a Quotations Specialist, you play a critical role in driving the success of our project business. Your expertise directly contributes to our ability to secure and deliver competitive, accurate, and timely quotations that help win key projects. By bridging the gap between our customers, suppliers, and internal teams, you ensure we provide exceptional value and service. This position not only supports revenue growth but also strengthens our reputation as a trusted partner in the electrical industry. Your insights and collaboration help shape smarter strategies, improve margins, and position E.B. Horsman & Son as the supplier of choice on every project we pursue. This role will report to the Projects Manager.

What to expect in the role

  • Generating quotations. Use sound judgment when quoting new and existing projects out for tender. Create quotes using a variety of methods such as web page quotes, worksheets, supplier systems, internal order & inventory systems.
  • Customer service-oriented. Maintain and build positive customer relations through product quotations while providing excellent customer service and product advice.
  • Strong multi-tasker. This role will require you to juggle several client requests and be able to meet competing timelines and priorities.
  • Collaborative communicator. Communication is essential for this role, both verbal and written, including facilitation skills of group presentations in person or virtual. Communicate with customers to determine appropriate solutions for pricing and product mix.
  • Project coordination. As required for providing administrative duties that help to carry out functioning projects.
  • Highly organized. Being organized is key due to the high volume of customer requests that will require you to adjust and work through interruptions.
  • Tech-savvy. Proficient in MS Office Suite, ie. 365, and comfortable with digital and technological tools. Ability to learn new software IQS / Compass / Smartsheet / P21 / MITS
  • Inclusion & diversity. You have the proven ability to form strategic partnerships, build relationships, and respect inclusive and cultural diversity.

Ideal candidate profile

  • 5+ years of sales in the electrical industry
  • Organizational skills and the ability to follow and understand procedures
  • Facilitation skills, with the ability to conduct virtual meetings or presentations
  • Conduct basic math calculations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including project management
  • Creative problem solver who thrives when presented with a challenge
  • Reliable transportation is required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience, sales is a strong asset
