About the role

The Quality Assurance and Environment Manager is responsible for leading the organization’s quality function and ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and all customer-specific requirements. This role oversees the Quality team, drives continuous improvement, and ensures that products, processes, and systems meet both internal quality standards and customer expectations.

All the important tasks we'll trust you with:

  • Assign and oversee daily activities for the Quality team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
  • Manage the metrology laboratory, including calibration processes and equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in the preparation of departmental budgets.
  • Maintain and improve the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer requirements.
  • Lead departmental QMS reviews to ensure alignment and effectiveness.
  • Maintain the organization’s risk management file.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM and Aftermarket customer standards.
  • Organize and coordinate external audits and support internal audit programs.
  • Monitor and follow up on company KPIs and quality-related action plans.
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure timely, effective responses.
  • Lead problem-solving activities, including 8D reports and root-cause analysis.
  • Communicate directly with customer quality engineers (SQE, STA) to support issue resolution and build strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee all PPAP documentation and submissions for production part approvals.
  • Support and validate engineering changes (ECRs) to ensure quality impact is addressed.
  • Participate in supplier selection, approval, and regular evaluations.
  • Follow up on supplier non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Participate in APQP activities and lead the creation and maintenance of:
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • PFMEAs
  • Control Plans
  • Contribute to and support continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Oversee bid packages and documentation required for customer part approvals.

Your areas of strength and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Knowledge of the automotive manufacturing field
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO-9001 and IATF-16949 standards
  • Knowledge of the specific requirements of OEMs (Ford, FCA, GM...)
  • Knowledge of AIAG manuals and the concepts presented: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Office, MS Project, VISIO, MINITAB environment
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical or industrial engineering
  • Experience in personnel management
  • Bilingualism (French and English)
  • Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec
  • Relevant diploma or certificate in quality management is an asset.
