The Principal Video Editor is responsible for leading the post-production pipeline for the Video Marketing Team while serving as the senior-most editor for high-visibility projects. This role combines hands-on editing expertise with workflow leadership, ensuring timely delivery of visually compelling, on-brand content that supports demand generation, product marketing, internal communications, and event initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Post-Production Leadership & Workflow Management

  • Own the end-to-end post-production process for the Video Marketing Team, including asset management, version control, and delivery standards.
  • Develop and enforce workflow best practices, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Oversee technical infrastructure, including editing systems, shared storage, proxy workflows, and file archiving protocols.
  • Implement quality control measures for audio, color grading, motion graphics integration, and final exports.

Creative Editing & Storytelling

  • Serve as lead editor on marquee projects, including executive videos, product campaigns, and event highlight reels.
  • Craft compelling narratives that align with brand voice and marketing objectives, utilizing strong visual storytelling, pacing, and sound design.
  • Collaborate with producers and creative leads to translate concepts into engaging, high-quality video outputs.
  • Provide creative guidance and mentorship to junior editors and motion designers to elevate overall team output.

Team & Vendor Management

  • Manage a small team of editors, animators and freelance resources, allocating projects based on complexity and timelines.
  • Source and oversee external post-production vendors for overflow or specialized needs (e.g., animation, color grading, sound mixing).
  • Review and approve final cuts, ensuring all deliverables meet brand standards and campaign objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of professional video editing experience, with 3+ years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and advanced knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, and related Adobe tools.
  • Strong understanding of color grading, sound design, and motion graphics workflows.
  • Familiarity with file-based media workflows, including proxies, shared storage systems, and backup strategies.
  • Excellent storytelling ability with a portfolio showcasing a range of marketing and brand content.
  • Proven experience in project and team management, including resource scheduling and vendor coordination.
  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in B2B or SaaS marketing environments producing product videos, customer stories, and event content.
  • Familiarity with frame.io, Media Encoder, and digital asset management systems.
  • Comfort with implementing and optimizing post-production workflows at scale for global marketing teams.
