About the role

Safety-Kleen Breslau, ON is looking for a Receiver Used Oil Operator to join their safety conscious team! The Receiver Used Oil Operator is responsible for inbound used oil loads: paperwork inspection, sampling of vessels, unloading of approved used oil, and transferring approved used oil to the main refinery feed tanks.

  • Monday to Friday. Day shift 06:00 – 14:30 then afternoon shift 14:00 – 22:30. One week AM, one week PM.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving of Used Motor Oil for refinery per procedure and government requirements.
  • Loading of asphalt extender and oily water for shipment to customers.
  • Responsible for completion of all associated paperwork.
  • Assists with other job tasks when required by the Shipping and Receiving Supervisor or manager (only job tasks that the Used Oil receiver is trained and qualified for).
  • Responsible for working safely and maintaining a safe work environment, by working within internal and external Safety & Health policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for working according to all departmental standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping and a clean work environment.
  • Responsible for working within all applicable quality policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate gauge readings for inventory control.
  • Sampling and labeling of all used oil and wastewater loads for approval.
  • Transferring of approved used oil to the main feed tank.
  • Perform accurate preloading practices and procedures.
  • Loading of approved asphalt extender into approved vessels and to complete all post load practices and procedures.
  • Complete associated paperwork for all incoming used oil loads, oil transfers, and asphalt extender loads according to procedures.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practice.
  • Issuance of Cold work permits for work in their area.

Qualifications

  • Must have good communication.
  • Must have good math, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Must be able to work under the direction of the Shipping and Receiving Manager, Supervisor, and senior training Receiver with minimal supervision and within established policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to work with deadline requirements.
  • Must have good housekeeping habits.
  • Must be able to work in a high paced environment.
  • Must be able to work within the Safety & Health policies established.
  • Must be able to work within the Quality System procedures established.
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.

Preferred Skills

  • Waste management experience.
  • Tank farm experience.
  • Liquid transferring, loading and unloading of vessels.

Good computer skills.
