The Role
As our Heavy Equipment Apprentice Mechanic, you can expect to be engaged in the day-to-day operations. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical aspects of equipment and components according to defined specifications. COME JOIN OUR TEAM!
Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance on fleet

Carrying out diagnostic tests and repairs to a variety of vehicles and equipment using modern maintenance practices

Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairs of construction equipment

Ensures all Workplace Safety
-
Environmental and National Safety Code Policies and Regulations
-
Read diagrams/schematics and manufacturers repair manuals for work procedures
-
Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain various other large construction equipment according to the maintenance schedule
-
Timely and accurate diagnosis and repair including computer connection/diagnosis with a machine to identify fault codes
-
Maintain accurate records of all service, repair, and other work as required
A day in the life
- Assist with equipment inspections, safety talks and helping ensure proper procedures are followed.
- Assist with job preparation and set up.
- Work with other mechanics and other various equipment on site.
- Work with other mechanics to do regular maintenance and repairs.
- May perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

Must have successfully completed 2yr. Heavy Equipment Techniques program

Ability to work outdoors in difficult conditions caused by snow, dust, temperature changes, and weather
-
Ability to use workplace technology
-
Capacity to perform physical work
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision
-
Must have Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation
