The Opportunity The Portfolio Services Manager aims to improve the capacity of the investment team and increase the control, efficiency, and consistency of the investment process and its related functions. The individual will contribute to the overall FIC investment management organization by identifying and implementing improvements / redesign for the investment process and related trade activities. The role will also provide leadership and direction to junior team members, act as a subject matter expert on PSG matters for assigned asset classes, and support the Head of Portfolio Services and COO on other investment services related matters for FCIM.
What You Will Do
- Ability to act on behalf of the investment team to address their needs and issues relating to compliance and investment operations matters.
- Review, clear and/or escalate pre-trade compliance issues to compliance counterparts on behalf of the investment team
- Able to independently work to understand and resolve issues and projects as they arise; coordinate with other Fidelity Canada business partners and act as representative for PSG as necessary
- Lead the day-to-day operations of PSG for assigned asset classes
- Coordinate with investment management business partners (i.e. Trading, investment operations, capital markets, compliance) on matters as necessary, including assisting with resolution of issues.
- Coordinate with Head of Portfolio Services and FCIM Director(s) of Research (DoR) to ensure research and other investment services requests are addressed.
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of significant exposure to portfolio management, trading, compliance and/or investment operations for an asset manager or related entity.
- University degree in business administration, law, or a quantitative discipline (i.e. accounting, economics, finance, mathematics)
or equivalent experience
- Completion of or enrollment in the Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) program preferred.
Competitive Pay for Specialized Talent This contract role offers a flexible, hourly compensation model that reflects your expertise and the value you bring. The hourly rate ranges from $55.40 to $80.00 based on experience and qualifications.
We offer market-aligned rates that recognize the specialized skills and agility required for this role.
