Mainframe Developer – COBOL, DB2, z/OS & Mainframe Application Development
Location: Toronto, ON
Work Model: Hybrid – 4 Days Work From Office Experience Required: 8–10 Years
Role Description
- Translate business needs into technical requirements
- Perform required tasks to ensure technical availability
- Assist in interpreting operational results
- Analyze usage patterns and establish schedules and procedures for maximum system utilization
- Maintain reports and reporting tools for traffic management, service centers, and enterprise partners
- Interact with other organizations to develop solutions supporting business objectives
- Analyze, define, and document requirements for:
- Data
- Workflow
- Logical processes
- Hardware and operating system environments
- Interfaces with other systems
- Internal and external checks
- Controls and outputs
- Provide cost and time estimates for assigned work packages to support development timelines and project plans
- Coordinate coding, testing, implementation, integration, and documentation of solutions
- Act as a technical solution provider and subject matter expert for solutions impacting dependent projects and applications
Required Skills
- Strong Mainframe expertise with 10+ years of hands-on experience
- 5+ years of Mainframe application support experience
- Strong experience with:
- z/OS
- MVS
- TSO/ISPF
- JCL
- IMS DB/DC
- CICS
- DB2
- VSAM
- COBOL
- ZEKE
- File-AID / File Manager
- IDz
