Roles and Responsibilities
- Note: This position offers permanent employment, part-time (up to 30 hours per week), with the potentiality to turn into full-time in the future. Purchasing and Technical Support Arrangements Assist the Vessel Manager and Fleet Manager with the day-to-day purchases and service support in operation and management of the vessel. Maintain central cost data for major stores, equipment, machinery, repairs, and drydock expenses. Visit vessels in port as required to support operational and technical activities. Maintain and update the approved supplier database and provide feedback on supplier performance to Head Office. Support various projects and operational initiatives as assigned by management. Accounting & Financial Administration Review journal vouchers for accuracy before entry into the accounting system. Process vessel-related invoices and disbursements, ensuring proper coding and routing for approval. Verify that all invoices have the required approvals and accounting codes prior to payment processing. Liaise with Head Office and suppliers regarding payment requests, reminders, and account statements. Assist in the preparation and review of financial reports and supporting schedules to meet reporting deadlines. Monitor and process vessel radio accounts and third-party expense recoveries. Support the verification and approval of vessel operating expenditure (OPEX) reports. Act as an authorized bank signatory when assigned by management. Strong attention to detail and analytical skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong communication skills in English; French is an asset. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Maritime Studies, Engineering, logistics or a related field Previous experience in accounting, operations, technical administration, purchasing or the maritime industry is considered an asset.
