DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources (HR) & Payroll Administrator will be responsible for handling all administrative duties related to both HR and payroll functions. The role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining employee records and supporting a wide range of HR policies and processes.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • HR Administration

    • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
    • Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling and conducting interviews
    • Assist with the onboarding process for new employees
    • Prepare and process documentation related to employee benefits (pension plans, leaves, insurance) and respond to employee inquiries
    • Provide accurate interpretation and communication of HR policies and procedures to employees and management
    • Act as a point of contact for inquiries regarding payroll, benefits and HR policies
    • Stay updated on HR and payroll trends, best practices and relevant legislation
    • Communicate effectively with employees, managers and external agencies regarding payroll and HR matters
  • Payroll

    • Accurately process and manage the full payroll cycle
    • Maintain and update employee information related to attendance, leave and overtime, ensuring accurate calculation of pay and benefits
    • Manage and update payroll and HRIS systems ensuring data integrity and security
    • Ensure compliance with all federal / provincial laws and regulations related to payroll, including tax laws
    • Generate and reconcile payroll reports, analyze data and identify and resolve discrepancies
    • Prepare and distribute year-end tax statements (e.g. T4s) and other documentation, verifying information and running year-to-date adjustment pays
    • Prepare and review all remittances to Government and benefit carriers (e.g. WSIB)
    • Issue Records of Employment (ROEs) as required

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Post secondary education in Human Resources related field required.
  • Experience in a HR support / administration role required.
  • Proven experience with payroll systems and related HRIS programs required (SAP, ADP WFN desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of year end payroll processing an asset
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data to ensure successful implementation and adaptation of HR and payroll initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, particularly with finance to align efforts and achieve business goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, and handle multiple priorities.
