Accounting Clerk

Emissions Reduction Alberta is seeking a qualified professional to join our Finance Team as an Accounting Clerk. This role requires a high level of attention to detail to make sure our payments are made in an accurate and timely manner, and our financial records are complete. The Accounting Clerk reports directly to the Finance Manager.
Key Accountabilities
Accounts Payable & Payment processing
- Process invoices and expense reports in accordance with existing policies and procedures.
- Calculate and verify invoices are in line with supplier or project contracts.
- Maintain contact details and banking information in ERA’s accounting software (XERO), and banking platform.
- Preparation of the Electronic Funds Transfer package for review.
- Maintain the finance email inbox through responding to internal and external inquiries.
Month-end close and reporting
- Pull reports to assist in the completion of month-end documentation.
- Prepare credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Financial Reporting & Special Projects
- Prepare data reports utilizing Xero or Excel for analysis by the Finance Manager.
- Contribute to enhancements in financial reporting, including building succinct visual financial reports for Executive and Board of Directors reporting.
- Other financial report development to support the Finance Team, utilizing Power BI or other data analytics tools.
- Preparing and updating process and policy documentation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Diploma in Accounting
- Proficient experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Experience with Xero or a similar Cloud Accounting software is an asset
- Hands-on experience in creating and updating analytics in Power BI is desirable
- High level of integrity
- Attentive to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Location
This role will preferably work from ERA’s Edmonton office. At ERA, we support flexibility by offering employees the option to work remotely on some days, while spending the majority of their time collaborating in person at our office.
Compensation
The base salary for this position is between $60,000-$70,000, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits.
