Primary Responsibilities The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact between the company and a portfolio of assigned retail partner categories or smaller regional customers. This role is responsible for driving profitable account performance, building strong internal and external relationships and executing strong sales fundamentals including promotional planning and on-shelf availability of products. Success in this role directly supports revenue growth, market share expansion, and customer satisfaction. The individual will act as a conduit between Field Sales, Head Office, Marketing and Sales Management. Essential Functions Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food). Account Relationship Management Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key contacts at retail accounts including sales & operations Serve as the liaison between the customer and internal cross functional teams Conduct regular business reviews and performance updates with retail partners. Assist in Customer trade shows which may include set up, tear down and/or working the show. Sales & Revenue Growth Drive volume and distribution growth by protecting base business while identifying new business opportunities (e.g., new store locations, new SKUs, improved promotional effectiveness). Develop and execute annual and quarterly sales plans for each account. Meet or exceed assigned sales targets, volume, and margin objectives. Promotional Planning & Execution Partner with Brand team to develop account-specific promotions and in-store campaigns. Own the promotional planning and execution within assigned guardrails and investment budget Monitor performance of promotions and adjust strategies based on results – maximize investment & return Forecasting & Inventory Management Utilizing trade promotion module & punctual communication, provide accurate sales forecasts to demand planning and supply chain teams. Monitor order patterns and work with logistics teams to avoid stock-outs or overstock situations and minimize retailer fines Help resolve any supply chain or fulfillment issues impacting the customer. Data Analysis & Reporting Analyze sales data, POS reports, and syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI) to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Track KPIs including sell-in, sell-through, promotional ROI, and product performance by store or region. Cross-functional Collaboration Thinking company first, function second, work collaboratively with: Field Sales & Operations, ensuring store level execution Marketing on customer-specific messaging and branding. Finance to manage pricing, trade spend, and customer profitability. Customer Service to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment. Insights to align with shopper insights, trends and planogram strategies Supply Chain to best manage inventory availability Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude A minimum of 2 years experience in Distributor or CPG account management or retail field sales Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, CRM platforms, and syndicated data tools (e.g., BI, IRI, Nielsen). SAP experience is an asset. Proven track record in hitting sales targets Strong negotiation including pricing, promotional terms, listing fees and building win-win solutions. Strong ability to leverage syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI), POS data and internal data Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. High energy level, comfortable performing multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities The base compensation range for this role is $52,000 CAD - $78,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
