Senior CT Technologist (Diagnostic Imaging)

Overview
The Senior Technologist, CT, leads the CT program at Michael Garron Hospital, including instruction and supervision of staff in this area. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring patient care services are delivered with high quality, safety and consistency on a daily basis. This is achieved through continuous monitoring to promote care that is patient centered, timely and efficient. The Senior Technologist enables team members to coordinate and integrate services and encourages ongoing performance improvement.
The incumbent maximizes the use of available resources to facilitate efficient patient throughput and an optimal patient experience. This role will include maintaining and updating policy and procedure manuals pertaining to CT, training material and continuous quality improvements in the Diagnostic Imaging department.
Furthermore, the Senior Technologist, CT, under the direction of the Radiologist performs radiographic procedures at a technical level requiring minimum supervision. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Will demonstrate independent judgement with ingenuity and initiative to perform CT Scans for diagnosis by the Radiologist.
The Senior CTTechnologist plays a crucial role in the Diagnostic Imaging department by providing expert guidance, ensuring safety compliance, and supporting change processes from a frontline CT perspective. This position entails active involvement in team guidance and oversight, CT safety, and process improvement.
Education
MRT with current Certificate of Competence Satisfactory completion of formal CT training in an approved CAMRT training school or equivalent Attendance in recognized courses in cross sectional anatomy
Qualifications
Technologist in the field of Radiography for not less than 4 years, two of which must be in CT Attendance at recognized courses and conferences in the field of CT scanning Attendance at courses or seminars relating to supervision and interpersonal relations Experience or current certification in IV injection of contrast media Good communications and interpersonal skills Tactfulness, initiative, supervisory skills, independent judgement Good work and attendance record required All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario.
