Duties
- Provides guidance to management, scientists, and technical staff regarding agricultural research operations at the Farm.
- Supervises staff engaged in the delivery of services for agriculture and related operations.
- Oversees safety for all who work on site and responsible for compliance of safety protocols.
- Participates in developing plans for land use in current and succeeding years.
- Coordinates the servicing and maintenance of farm equipment.
- Researches and participates in tendering documents, maintains and compiles records and inventories, and prepares purchase requisitions for material and supplies.

- Experience in maintaining farm equipment.
- Experience in pest and disease management in agriculture.

- Possession of a valid class 5 Prince Edward Island driver’s license, or other provincial/territorial equivalency.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as required
- Ability and willingness to perform physically demanding work activities including moderate to heavy manual labour requiring bending and lifting objects (up to 25 kg)
- Ability and willingness to work with chemicals and pesticides
- Ability and willingness to obtain a Prince Edward Island Pesticide Applicator’s License
- Ability and willingness to work under variable weather conditions and environments (outdoors, hot, dust, noise).
- Ability and willingness to use Personal Protective Equipment and control allergies as necessary for the performance of duties
