The impact you will have:

As theSupervisor of AR Accounting, your role encompasses the essential execution of Softchoice’s AR accounting policies for the AR Accounting team and overseeing the MDF section. Your objective is to support a balance between facilitating financial risk mitigation for Softchoice while ensuring operational efficiency.

Your leadership will be instrumental in supporting financial success and customer satisfaction across our AR accounting and credit functions.

What you’ll do:

As theSupervisor of AR Accounting, you will play a critical role in supporting financial stability while facilitating Softchoice’s growth and strengthening customer relationships.

-AR Accounting Policy Execution:

  • Implement and enforce Softchoice’s AR Accounting policies.
  • Ensure compliance with AR Accounting guidelines and procedures.

-Enhance Day to Day Operations:

  • Meet or exceed daily metrics and guidelines.
  • Lead the high volume of cash application in the various revenue receipt streams that include ACH, Wire, EFT, EDI, Lockbox, Credit Card and non-trade receivable payments in a timely and controlled manner.
  • Ensure timely responses/process for requests via Salesforces, recording payment remittances, write offs, adjustments and other related duties.
  • Own the integrity, accuracy and information quality for the work product of the assigned AR Accounting team.
  • Support reconciliation/resolution of accounts (that may have complex hierarchies, contracts) where unapplied, misapplied, credits, discrepancy, or variances may be presented.
  • Ensure checks and balances support sufficient controls for unapplied and unidentified cash.

-MDF Accounting & Cash Application:

    • Oversee MDF cash application, ensuring funds are accurately applied, tracked, and reconciled in accordance with vendor agreements and accounting standards.
    • Maintain MDF accounts, including accruals, reconciliations, aging analysis, and variance investigations.
    • Partner with Vendor Management and Finance teams to resolve MDF discrepancies and ensure appropriate funding utilization.
    • Ensure MDF balances are supported with clear documentation and are audit-ready.
  • Collaborate and establish regular touch points with cross-functional teams.

-Process Facilitation:

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of AR Accounting process.
  • Identify challenges from the root source/cause and recommend resolution to minimize/eliminate recurring symptoms or challenges.

-Financial Analysis:

  • Provide daily cash receipts analysis for various currencies.
  • Provide daily cash receipts analysis for various currencies of non-trade AR.
  • Report unapplied and unidentified cash.
  • Report monthly reconciliation/savings from vendors for Credit Card usage/Payroc.

-Compliance and Documentation:

  • Maintain compliance and accounting standards, regulations, guidelines and controls within the AR Accounting process.

  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain accurate documentation with Job Aids.

  • Ensure adequate preparation, compliance and coverage for reports and analysis for periodic and process supporting the yearly audit and related controls.

-Reporting and Performance Metrics:

  • Convey effective and timely communication.
  • Support the improvement of days sales outstanding (D.S.O.) and the reduction of the aged receivables and delinquency rates.
  • Oversee the periodic reports for AR Accounting activity, portfolio performance, and key metrics. Specific areas of operation include but not limited to Cash Application, Unapplied Cash, Credit Card, MDF and Referrals.
  • Present findings to Manager, AR Accounting and recommend improvements.

-Training and Development

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Timely performance reviews for all direct reports.

  • Keep the teams updated on credit, leasing and AR accounting policy changes.

-Team Engagement

  • Create an engaging and fulfilling AR Accounting Team environment for your direct reports.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and 1 on 1’s to ensure team members have a strong understanding of the different programs we can offer.
  • Work directly with team members to create Career Development Plan, Individual Development Plan and provide guidance and feedback on goals and activities related to these plans.
  • Provide necessary support on complex opportunities.
  • Manage and coach team using a Human and Inspiring coaching model.
  • Continue to periodically conduct pulse surveys to ensure optimal engagement and action plan to adjust strategy if or as needed.
  • Ensure coverage for Canadian and US Holidays. Month, Quarter and Year end are scheduled.
  • Schedule vacation, track absences and related duties.

What you’ll bring to the table:

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • Minimum Education – High School Diploma or GED Equivalent. Accounting designation, post graduate degree in business is an asset.

  • 5+ years in AR Accounting Analyst.

  • 2+ years of experience, demonstrating strong leadership, initiative, and a high standard of ethics and professionalism.

  • Working knowledge of accounting concepts, specifically in the areas of accounts receivable, billing, collection, and cash application.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work under pressure.

  • Strong analysis capabilities with the ability to provide recommendations for management.

  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, reconciliation skills and proven capability for multitasking and handling high demand/volume requests.

  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative skills with a high standard of ethics and professionalism.

  • Proficiency in SAP and Salesforce.

Compensation:

A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position in Ontario is $62,400 to $78,000 annually + 8% as target incentives.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, education, and related certification. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ.
