What is the project?
The Pickering Nuclear Generating Station refurbishment program involves designing and building a new deep-water intake in Lake Ontario to improve the plant's cooling system. This will involve:
- A 1.5 km-long tunnel, built by a pressurized TBM (10.15 m diameter slurry TBM);
- Two vertical shafts (onshore and offshore);
- An offshore modular intake structure, resting on the lake bed.
The project is distinguished by its proximity to an active nuclear site, requiring rigorous standards of safety, planning and coordination.
What you will do:
Preparing works preparation drawings for a major construction site.
Concretely, your tasks will be:

Site installation drawings with logistics and liftings operations
-
Excavation sequence with secant piles, soldier piles, tension piles, rock anchors, struts and walers,
-
Civil works, TBM and SEM tunnelling sequences and interfaces,
-
Preparation of drawings/inputs for civil works designer: sequence of casting, reinforcement design basis…,
-
Support for permit request,
-
Utilities, traffic, dewatering drawings,
-
Temporary works drawings with formwork.Your skills:
-
2/3 years of experience in construction site,
-
Team spirit and communication oriented,
-
Rigor, ability to learn constantly,
-
Problem solving skills,
-
Able to work with AutoCad and Revit.
