WHY DO WE NEED YOU?
The Oakville Plant is looking for a Material Handler
Shifts available: Monday to Friday
-
Day Shift: 5.30am – 2pm
-
Afternoon Shift: 1.30pm – 10pm
Rotating every 2 weeks through all 2 shifts.
Salary: $32.35/hour
Here’s what you’ll be responsible for in this role…
-
Safely and efficiently operate equipment, including forklifts, floor washers, band saw, and railcar movers (if certified).
-
Load and unload products from various modes of transportation for delivery to customers and other facilities.
-
Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts.
-
Ensure timely completion of customer loads, train offloads, and truck offloads.
-
Transfer finished goods from the 24-hour hold area to storage racks and maintain organized racking.
-
Troubleshoot equipment and system issues, adhering to safety and lockout procedures.
-
Comply with environmental guidelines for product storage and disposal.
-
Follow all plant policies and procedures.
-
Sort and manage damaged products, including related documentation.
-
Consolidate various product types as needed.
-
Complete SMATs (Safety Management Audit Tool) and EMATs (Environmental Management Audit Tool) as assigned.
-
Accurately complete all shipping and receiving paperwork.
-
Rotate stock according to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
-
Perform other duties as assigned.
IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Level IV certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Ability to lift over 25 kg (50 lbs); frequently up to 45 kg (100 lbs).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and inventory management systems.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to quality control.
- Basic keyboarding and maintenance skills.
Work Environment:

Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
-
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, and kneeling.
-
Regular lifting and movement of heavy materials.
-
Operation of motorized vehicles in shared workspaces.
-
Visual acuity requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and color vision, along with depth perception and focus adjustment.
-
Requires strong motor control and reflexes.
-
High attention to detail, multitasking under deadlines, and frequent interaction with sales and operations staff.
-
Use of computerized systems and portable electronic devices is routine.
