Prairie Valley School Division is inviting applications for the position of Principal at Sedley School. Sedley School offers Kindergarten to Grade 8 programming to a projected enrolment of approximately 89 students. There is a professional staff compliment of 6.10 FTE teachers and 3.61 FTE support staff. Sedley School provides a strong academic program and supports students to become caring, competent, responsible citizens who value education and life-long learning. Sedley is located 54km southeast of Regina.

Education & Experience:
Candidates will have a Bachelor of Education, Professional A teaching certificate, a master's degree in a related field (or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment) and demonstrated leadership experience. Experience as a school-based administrator is considered an asset.

Skills & Abilities:
By way of cover letter and resume, candidates will demonstrate experience in the 4 competency areas of learning leadership, human resource leadership, setting direction, and professional leadership attributes and orientation.

Leadership and management attributes include:

  • Building classroom capacity by consistently and effectively focusing on teaching and learning.
  • Leading teachers in and demonstrating understanding of the instructional cycle, responsive teaching and formative and summative assessment.
  • Establishing school-wide expectations and practices for grading and reporting.

Terms: Commencing the 2026-2027 school year

Compensation & Assignment:
This position includes 60% administrative duties and 40% teaching assignment. Salary and benefits are outlined in the STF Provincial Collective Bargaining agreement and Local Collective Bargaining Agreement for teachers. The current administrative allowance is approximately $17,962.
