About the role
Technical Growth Associate
About Boardy Boardy is an AI super-connector — we've grown a network of 120,000+ members who get warm introductions through phone, SMS, WhatsApp, Slack, email, and LinkedIn. Growth here is an engineering problem before it's a marketing one. We're looking for a Growth Engineer to own the systems that acquire, activate, and retain users — and to build the ones that don't exist yet. Our data and tracking stack is not a standard GTM setup: profiles, signals, interactions, and conversations across six channels, modeled in Postgres and dbt. You'll need to understand it deeply, extend it, and build automation on top of it. This is a builder-first, high-autonomy role. No ticket queue, no roadmap handed down. You'll work directly with the founding team, ship daily, and own outcomes end to end — from the SQL that defines a metric to the copy that goes out the door.
What You'll Do
Own the retention and re-engagement system: instrument churn signals, find drop-off points in the funnel, and build the automated campaigns that win users back Build and maintain growth infrastructure in n8n, Clay, and Supabase — pipelines that connect our product data, outbound, and reporting Work directly in Postgres: write and optimize queries, extend our data models, and build the reporting layer the whole team runs on Ship internal tools with Cursor or Claude Code when no off-the-shelf product solves the problem — scrapers, enrichment services, LLM agents, dashboards Build the outbound engine: list building, enrichment via APIs, and campaign orchestration at scale Own email campaigns and lifecycle sequences end to end — strategy, copy, execution, and iteration Design experiments, measure them honestly, and turn what works into repeatable playbooks What You Have You write code. A CS degree, engineering background, or a portfolio of things you've actually shipped — we care about what you've built, not where you studied Comfort with SQL and relational databases. You can model data, not just query it 2–3+ years in a growth, GTM, or engineering role where you owned real outcomes Fluency with APIs, webhooks, and glue code — you can wire two systems together without waiting for anyone AI-native by default: you reach for LLMs and agent tooling as a normal part of how you build. Bonus if you've built agentic workflows in production Hands-on Clay experience (required) and working knowledge of n8n or similar orchestration tools Strong copywriting instincts. You have a second level of thinking about messaging — casual, approachable, minimal formalities. Systems that ship bad copy don't grow A creative, ownership-driven mindset: you spot problems, take them on unasked, and build the fix. Ask forgiveness more than permission Experience at an early-stage startup, ideally with a marketplace or network-effect product Nice to Have Python or TypeScript for anything beyond glue code Experience with dbt, event tracking, or analytics instrumentation (PostHog or similar) You've built something that scraped, enriched, or classified data at volume
