We are seeking individuals that hold a Child & Youth Worker (CYW) certificate and are interested in supporting temporary CYW assignments throughout the 2025-26 school year.
These special assignments will provide coverage for temporary gaps as they arise. While the timing and duration of these assignments are not predetermined, selected candidates will have the opportunity to step into these roles as needed .

Provide onsite support to children in the development of strategies for coping with personal, social, emotional, and/or behavioural issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Respond to emergency or crisis situations
- Provide direct assistance with behaviour management including observing, monitoring, and reporting
- Provide emotional/social and behavioural support to students within classroom and school settings; specifically, students on the School Child and Youth Worker's Priority Caseload
- Consult and assist school personnel in developing, implementing, modifying, and evaluating social skills, preventative strategies, and behavioural programs
- Liaise with community agencies in support of specific children
- Manage and maintain student records and caseload
- Act as a resource person at school team meetings, parent meetings, system resource meetings, and community agency case conferences
- Utilize the techniques of Behaviour Management System to safeguard student and staff safety when required
- Contribute to the development of the Individual Education Plan/Action Plan
- Recommend resource material
- Additional duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- A Child & Youth Worker diploma
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a professional team
- Training in Behaviour Management Systems (BMS)
- A minimum of one-year experience in this or related position involving programming for children with behaviour challenges
- Proven ability to work as part of a professional team
- This position involves travel to schools within the Board, and therefore the successful candidate must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license
- Member of the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC) is an asset
