Accountabilities: As a Senior Software Engineer II, you will design, develop, and operate scalable technology solutions that support complex fulfillment, inventory, and delivery decision-making processes. You will contribute to technical strategy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and impactful products. Design, build, and maintain resilient, low-latency backend services and data pipelines that support critical business operations. Develop and productionize features in collaboration with machine learning and data science teams, enabling improved decision-making and experimentation. Own services throughout their lifecycle, including architecture design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, reliability improvements, and on-call support. Improve system scalability, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through optimization, capacity planning, observability practices, and incident analysis. Partner with product, marketplace, and operations teams to define technical roadmaps and deliver solutions aligned with business objectives. Contribute to engineering excellence through code reviews, design discussions, mentoring, and the improvement of development practices. Support a culture of clear communication, collaboration, and thoughtful problem-solving across engineering teams. Requirements: The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with strong backend development expertise and a passion for building distributed systems at scale. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating with diverse teams. 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with experience building backend services or distributed systems. Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or Scala. Experience designing and operating microservices using major cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure. Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes. Strong SQL skills and experience working with data platforms, event streaming systems, and databases such as Kafka, Pub/Sub, Redis, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. Proven experience owning production systems, including monitoring, logging, tracing, and participation in on-call rotations. Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and other technical stakeholders. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. Knowledge of real-time decision systems, marketplaces, logistics, e-commerce, optimization algorithms, or machine learning platforms is considered an asset. Experience with experimentation frameworks, feature stores, model serving, or cloud data ecosystems is preferred. Strong mentoring abilities and experience leading technical initiatives from concept through delivery.
