Concrete Finisher
We are currently seeking Concrete Finishers to work on concrete installation projects located in Edmonton. We offer competitive wages, work / life balance, great opportunity for advancement, training and potential for work over the winter.
Duties include (but are not limited to):

Place and finish concrete floors, driveways, sidewalks, curbs, bridge decks and other concrete structures

Apply architectural, exposed, patterned, and stamped surfaces
-
Level and smooth top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
-
Round edges and make joints / grooves to help control cracking
-
Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
-
Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
-
Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
-
Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
-
Impart desired finish (broomed / smooth) to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
-
Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
-
Waterproof, damps proof and restore surfaces
-
Place and finish concrete surfaces to project specifications
-
Ensure freshly poured concrete surfaces are protected from constantly changing weather conditions (covered, heat & hoarded accordingly)
-
Provide quality assurance/control for concrete pours
-
Work with minimal supervision and direction
-
Follow all safety and quality control procedures
-
Participate in site safety meetings
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience is required
- Experience with various flat work finishing is required
- Grouting experience is an asset
- Have knowledge how to properly use dry pack grouting and epoxy materials
- Proven expertise in how to perfectly cure concrete
- Understand how to use power/small tools such as plate tampers, carb saws, etc.
- Ability to work long hours (10+ hour days) outdoors in various weather conditions
- Physical able to perform heavy manual tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving heavy materials up to 50lbs
- Working understanding of site hazard assessments and able to complete daily safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Be fit for duty and prepared for work each day
- Positive attitude / team player
- Strong communication / listening skills and ability to follow direction
