SHORT ORDER COOK
Bargaining Unit: SEIU HERITAGE
Status: Casual
Department: Nutrition & Food Services
Site: St. Joseph's Heritage
Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends
Rate of Pay: $23.946 - $25.462 per hour
Qualifications:

Food Safety Certificate by Public Health (current within the last 3 years)

Food Service Worker Certificate or currently enrolled or eligible for the program
-
Must be able to adequately read and write English

Good organizational skills
-
Good understanding of Therapeutic Diets and portion control and understand the basics of food preparation, handling and storage
-
Must possess a minimum of 2 years food service experience relative to an institutional kitchen and have a basic understanding of standard diets and the associated risk management issues
-
Knowledge of WHMIS
-
Must be sensitive to the needs of the elderly
-
Must be in good physical condition and must be able to lift up to 15 kg (30 pounds)
-
Must be able to work minimum supervision and in a team environment
-
Demonstrated regular attendance at work
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT

This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
