About the role

A career as the Lead, Control Testing, in the Integrated Risk Management team at National Bank means that you will be responsible for designing and implementing an agile, efficient, and scalable testing environment across key risk domains including cybersecurity, technology, and fraud. As a strategic leader, you will also be responsible for recruiting, developing and inspiring a team of experts, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, risk-based control tests that support the Bank's strategic objectives.

Your role

  • Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision for control testing across multiple domains, aligning with enterprise risk management strategies.
  • Practice Development: Build and operationalize a robust control testing framework that is agile, scalable, and aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices.
  • Team Building: Recruit, coach, and lead a team of control testing professionals with diverse expertise in risk control testing in fields such as cyber, technology or fraud risk.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Risk, Compliance, Technology, and Business lines to ensure alignment and drive continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of control testing activities, ensuring timely identification of control deficiencies and actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a catalyst for innovation, continuously improving methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.

Your team

The Vice-Presidency – Integrated risk Management is a proactive and collaborative team that helps transform the way the Bank manages risk. Be at the forefront of building a new, strategic capability within the Bank! You will be part of a large team of specialists and will report to the Senior Vice-President – Enterprise risk Management. You will work in a collaborative, inclusive and innovative environment.

Prerequisites

  • University degree in a relevant field (e.g., Risk Management, Information Security, Business, Engineering);

  • More than 10 years of experience in risk management, audit, or compliance, with a strong focus on control testing across cyber, technology, and fraud domains.

  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive strategic initiatives in complex environments.

  • Experience implementing agile methodologies in risk or control functions is a strong asset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

  • Certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CRMA are considered assets.
