Position Overview

As an Electronics Processing Technician you will be responsible for dismantle, clean, repair and reassemble a customers home electronics and appliances either on site at a home or commercial building or in our in-house processing warehouse.

This role is primarily Monday to Friday with shifts from 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, but may be called after hours for priority claims. This position also works in a loud environment with unsanitary contents. PPE may be required at all times.

Duties and Responsibilities

Contents

  • Test and inspect electronics as required in the field and processing warehouse
  • Disconnect and pack electronics and appliances for safe transportation and storage
  • Photograph, take inventory, and note details of items in iCat
  • Inspect and clean and disinfect electronics, utilizing wash stations as well as ozone and drying rooms, and remove all smoke and odor residue
  • Communicate with lead on site for contents moveout time frame
  • Communicate with dispatcher on job completion when on the field
  • Communicate with Contents Administrator on jobs that have arrived and have been completed
  • At move back, unpack all electronics, re-connect and reset
  • Test with customer to verify proper operation
  • Support facility audio and video set up for quarterly meetings and Lobsterfest event

Health and Safety

  • Ensure that self and others adhere to Canstar’s health and safety practices and procedures
  • Ensure good housekeeping is kept to perform work safely and efficiently
  • Understand safety policies and protocols
  • Ensure that self and others on site are wearing all required PPE, when required

Who we are looking for:

A personable and well-organized individual with outstanding customer service skills is a match made in heaven for a the Contents Electronics Technician. Experience working in a fast-paced environment focused on internal and external customer service will have you off on the right foot for this position. Other important attributes of a future Canstar are:

  • The physical ability to bend, reach, lift 50lbs safely and repeatedly and stand throughout your shift
  • A valid drivers license and ability to drive is a must
  • Ability to solder is essential
  • Completed a basic electronics course
  • 2-3 years’ experience as an electronics technician (repair or cleaning) ideally with some computer knowledge is an asset
  • A great attitude and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and serve our customers – we have a fun and hard-working team and are looking for someone with the skills to compliment them
  • The ability to wear PPE, including a respirator
  • A clean criminal record, and drivers abstract is required
