Position Summary The Operations Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Manager with daily tasks to support efficient management of the warehouse and delivery teams and their operation. Tasks supported by this role include ensuring appropriate staffing levels, delivery planning, handling customer inquiries, and leading staff through corporate initiatives. This role is fundamental in achieving operational excellence. The shifts are Monday - Friday 7am - 3:30pm and the salary range is $65,000 - $75,000 annually. Key Responsibilities Oversee coordination of the shipping, operations, and transportation teams. Provide clear direction to operations staff to assist in a high level of effectiveness in operations. Assisting the Operations Manager with operations management duties. Support the General Manager with operations management duties. Measure and report effectiveness of warehouse, shipping, operations, and transportation teams. Travel to locations for training, support, and supervision as needed. Measure and support maintenance programs and servicing. Provide coaching to all operations teams. Enforce the company’s safety program. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet warehouse demands as dictated by delivery schedules and workflow. Review reports and attend all operations conference calls. Encourage and enforce activity scanning. Accident investigations and safety inspections. Assisting with performing deliveries and order building of all materials. Train delivery teams and yard staff on roles and responsibilities. Ensure proper operation of the Transfer system. Ensure Shipping process is functioning properly o Planning for space requirements and position of shipment on trucks o Routing and legal load limits of trucks o Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications o Facilitate certified vehicle inspections and crane inspections as needed o Organize equipment/vehicle repairs o Communicate with sales team and customers o Maintain vehicle maintenance reports o Compile records of unfilled orders and errors o Ensure the shipping office and workspace is always clean and organized o Other duties as assigned by management Basic Requirements Minimum two years of experience is an asset Broad knowledge of building supplies and home improvement products Must have prior delivery experience Competent with Microsoft Excel and Navision Valid forklift certification is an asset Effective communication skills and ability to read and speak English Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments Physical requirements include: o Ability to lift and carry up to 100lbs o Pulling, pushing, bending and torso twisting movements with weight Benefits Health benefits - including drug coverage, practitioner, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance.
