Casual Security Guard - Formet Industries
Site Description:
Formet Industries is a high-volume manufacturing facility supporting the automotive sector. Security staff are responsible for monitoring access points, conducting patrols of production and warehouse areas, and enforcing safety and compliance protocols. The role requires attentiveness, reliability, and the ability to work within an industrial environment.
**Position:**Security Guard
**Site:**Formet Industries
**Status:**Casual / On-call
**Hours:**Saturday - Sunday (Various Hours)
Pay Rate:$18.93/hour
**Posting Date:**March 11th, 2026
**Internal Closing Date:**March 18th, 2026
**External Closing Date:**April 15th, 2026
**Overtime Method:**Averaging Agreement (AA)
The facility adheres to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program access control including inbound and outbound shipments, visitors and contractors. The guard will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions inspecting and logging truck traffic and completing patrols. Experience with CTPAT would be an asset. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements.
**Duties include but are not limited to:**CTPAT Procedures, Weight Scale Operation, Covid Screening, Access Control, Monitor Security Systems, Conduct Security Patrols, Respond to Emergency Situations.
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act
- Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements
- Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise and legible reports
- Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy
- Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personal, building and equipment security
- Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire and/or ambulance personnel, as required
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required
- Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to emergency situations involving violent individuals and injuries
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
- A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
- Vulnerable Sector Check
