As a Waste Water Technician you will operate and monitor control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of waste water and thus produces treated water that complies to regulations.

What You Will Do

  • Operates and monitors wastewater treatment systems to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collects samples, conducts chemical treatment, and analyzes results
  • Reads and interprets meters, gauges, and instrumentation data
  • Adjusts equipment and processes based on system performance and test results
  • Inspects systems, identifies malfunctions, and responds to alarms or spills
  • Maintains accurate records, logs, and regulatory compliance documentation
  • Performs routine equipment maintenance and manages chemical inventory
  • Understands flight/product safety-critical parts and processes
  • Reports safety concerns immediately and supports risk analysis efforts
  • Supports operations through cross-training, continuous improvement, and adherence to safety standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Equivalent to high school graduation and completion of a diploma training program at a college or technical school
  • Must have completed WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) training
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience handling and mixing chemicals to specific recipes
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in transporting dangerous goods and preparing hazardous waste

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of waste water treatment and control procedures.
  • Strong aptitude for chemistry.
  • Working knowledge of related company instructions, company processes and MSDS labels.
  • Working knowledge production management computer system and other related internal control systems.
  • Completion of a college program in water and waste water or a closely related discipline; or equivalent.
