Your Team:

Join Flair’s Engineering team, where accurate documentation and regulatory compliance support safe and efficient maintenance operations. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Technical Services Librarian is responsible for the collection, organization, maintenance, and distribution of maintenance publications, technical data, and controlled documentation required by the Maintenance department. This role ensures the accuracy, accessibility, and currency of technical publications and regulatory documents to support compliant operations. Working closely with Engineering, Maintenance, and Safety teams, the Technical Services Librarian ensures critical information is properly managed and readily available to support operational integrity and maintenance activities.

This role is based on-site at the Calgary (YYC) office.

A Day in the Life:

The duties of theTechnical Services Librarianinclude:

  • Oversee and track the maintenance library, ensuring both online and printed technical publications are current, accurate, and compliant with regulations.
  • Query aviation authority and OEM portals for new publications and distribute them for assessment in Swiss-AS AMOS.
  • Track maintenance library manuals, including online and printed technical publications, to ensure the accuracy of revisions, amendments, and subscription renewals in support of regulatory compliance.
  • Regularly review controlled technical publications and forms to verify they reflect the latest revisions and are readily available to technical staff.
  • Maintain revision status by liaising with external vendors on a scheduled basis to acquire the most up-to-date documentation.
  • Notify relevant staff when publications are updated and ensure outdated materials are appropriately retired.
  • Maintain a registry of all revisions to support audit processes.
  • Maintain the online SharePoint Technical Library, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and accessible.
  • Oversee MyBoeingFleet technical functions, including conducting regular access rights audits.
  • Manage access rights for external vendors to technical manuals and support technical staff with external online documentation services.
  • Develop and distribute training related to publication access and management.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support the Maintenance department.

What You Bring to the Role:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values:honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect, while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

-Education:

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent is required. -Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in technical services, document management, or a related role within the aviation industry.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a document control role is required.
  • Experience working with aviation-specific documentation, such as Aircraft Maintenance Manuals (AMMs), Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs), and regulatory documents.
  • Familiarity with aviation regulatory requirements and standards (e.g., FAA, EASA, Transport Canada)
  • Experience with MyBoeingFleet is an asset.
  • Previous experience with Swiss-AS AMOS is an asset -Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong knowledge of cataloging standards, metadata management, and document classification systems.
  • Proficiency in using document management systems (DMS) and other relevant software tools.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, ensuring timely access to critical documentation.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. -Requirements:
  • Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
